The McEwens consist of 4 members Matthew on lead vocals and guitar, Jay on bass and backup vocals, Jeff on Guitar and backup vocals, and Brennan on the drums. Matthew and Brennan had formed a band in mid-November of 2003, then tragedy struck and their bassist and good friend James McEwen in March of 2004. Roughly one year later they had come together and created a band influenced by early 90s rock (such as Nirvana, and Alice in Chains) along with punk of the late 70s and early 80s (such as Social Distortion, and The Ramones). Jeff (a guitarist who was also in a band with James) then joined as our bass player. He later jumped back to guitar, when Jay joined the band. And that's the story of The McEwens
