Blazing Violets

Blazing Violets

Friday May 5
Doors - 6:30PM Show - 7:00PM
Queen Alexandra Hall
10425 University Avenue

With their brand new, highly anticipated EP "Under the Porch" completed and a succession of gigs with notable indie rock bands, the Blazing Violets are rapidly becoming one of Edmonton's most prolific up-and-coming rock bands. The most powerful testament to their rock & roll prowess and credibility is the sheer mayhem and debauchery that is their live show. The Blazing Violets play with the philosophy that fans come out not only to hear great music, but to see a highly entertaining show as well! Having been inspired by such out-of-control bands as KISS, Mudhoney, and Iggy and the Stooges, and with onstage antics ranging from cross-dressing and undressing to stage diving and blood spitting, few bands cam move a crowd quite like the Blazing Violets! The diverse influences of each band member, coupled with their desire to have cohesive songwriting has caused a variety of musical persuasions to flourish within the band. Owing to this, the Blazing Violets have become Edmonton's one and only "classic-riot-punk-a-billy-glam-grunge" band! With songs ranging from the highly dancable to the heavily head banging, the Blazing Violets are a prime example of turning genre-bending into a recipe for musical success!
